I had a GFCI Socket in my bathroom which was recessed in the wall a little below the face plate. Every time I plugged something into it, it moved around. Tried tightening etc but to no avail. I slipped one of these plated behind the socket mounting screws which caused the socket to then be just a tad above flush with the wall. Tightened the top and bottom mounting screws and it was rock solid. The face plate then went on and was snug to the wall too. Now it looks neat, not sunken in and it no longer has any play when anything is plugged in. Even though I only used one plate so far, it did the trick and was worth every cent. I'm sure I'll have need for a couple more of them and I've already promised a couple to a friend who has a similar problem.
These are easy to fit and for what they do, great value. Highly recommend.

Can be made to work w/Double Switch or Outlet
Right side switch in our laundry room partly submerged into the switch cover - not a problem functionally, but irritating. Second pic shows the reason why: hole in the drywall was cut too big. Fixing just the problematic side created a new problem, as expected (third & fourth pics). Two of these plates can’t fit side by side as-is, but a hacksaw or grinder can fix that easily enough. In retrospect, I would have been smarter to cut half as much off of both plates, rather than all off of one, as it didn’t spread the pressure as far, and the left switch now tips slightly into the middle. With the cover back on, it’s not enough to notice and even I will forget about it in the future. Absolutely no problem using the original cover screws (I was concerned that I’d have to jockey things around to get the right alignment, but zero jockeying :). Great product.
