112 People Will Die on the Road Before Tomorrow

Sometimes it’s a mother, sometimes a daughter, sometimes a grandmother.
Most of them were just driving home.
It never takes much.
A drunk driver drifts over the center line, and that’s enough.
So is a tired driver whose eyes fall shut.
So is a text, because for two seconds nobody is driving.
Or a deer steps out around a bend, so the wheel jerks and the car leaves the road.
Some are still in the car when help arrives, and have to be cut out.
One rolls down the bank into a canal.
When the woman inside gets her head up, the water is already over the door handles.
And then it starts coming in, faster than most people expect.

People Live Through the Crash, But Die Trapped Inside Their Own Car

In a bad crash, the battery is the first thing to die.
When it goes, the windows and locks go too.
That’s worst in water, because a car does not float for long.
If the car flips upside down, your own body weight can jam the seatbelt buckle.
And smoke leaves even less time than either.
So firefighters teach the same two moves.
Break the side window.
Cut the belt.
Unfortunately, most people are not ready.
They never think that something like this could happen to them.
Until the day it does.
That's why every year, 400 or more people drown inside their own car.
And vehicle fires kill more than 500 people a year.
A simple escape tool could be the difference between getting out... or never getting out at all.

Introducing TerraStrike, the Escape Tool That Puts a First Responder’s Job in Anyone’s Hands

So we built TerraStrike to do exactly those two jobs, and nothing else.
One end breaks the side window.
The other end cuts the jammed belt.
And we made TerraStrike smaller than most key fobs.
The usual escape tools are bigger, and they take more strength than a senior has, or anyone shocked and still shaking.
The usual escape tools are bigger, and they take more strength than a senior has, or anyone shocked and still shaking.
The spring fires the same way every time, whether your hand is steady or not.
It doesn't matter if you are upside down, underwater, or if the car battery is dead.
TerraStrike can get you out in under 60 seconds.
No matter your strength, your age, or your athleticism.

So Simple That Someone Shaking in the Dark Still Gets Out

Press the point into the corner of a tempered side window.
The spring drives the point, so the force doesn’t come from you, and the window goes at once, steady hands or not.
Then for a jammed belt, pull the cover clean off the loop end, and the hidden cutter is ready.
That opens a channel, so feed the tight belt in and draw the cutter through, and it gives way in one pass.
The cutter sits down inside it, so even in the dark, the belt reaches the blade and your fingers can’t.

  • My nephew laughed until he saw it

“My nephew does auto glass for a living, and when I told him what I’d ordered he laughed at me. So he brought over an old side window out of a wrecked door and stood it up in the yard. I’m 66 and there isn’t much strength left in my hands. I pressed the end on the corner and it went all at once, a whole pile of little pieces. He wasn’t laughing after that. He wanted to know where I got it.”

     Judy R.

  • Couldn’t find the manual door release in my driveway.

“My sister sent me that article about Tesla doors that won’t open after a crash. I drive a Model Y with my kids in the backseat every day. I spent 20 minutes looking for the manual door release and couldn’t find it without googling. If I can’t find it parked in my driveway, I’m definitely not finding it upside down after a crash. Ordered three: one for me, one for my husband, one for the teenagers’ car. I put them in the cars the same day they came.”

     Denise P.

  • The seatbelt cutter alone is worth the price.

“Responded to a rollover last month where a woman was hanging from her seatbelt, conscious, and couldn’t release the buckle. Her body weight was pressing the latch. We cut her out and she was fine. She wasn’t getting out of that belt on her own, and she had nothing in that car to cut it with. I don’t want to think about it. Ordered TerraStrikes for my whole family. The seatbelt cutter alone is worth the price.”

     Frequently Asked questions

No. The spring delivers all the force. Press the end against the corner of the side window and the spring fires on its own.

Tempered side windows, which is the glass in most car doors. Check the stamp in the corner of the window: it will say tempered or laminated. A growing number of newer cars use laminated side glass, and TerraStrike doesn’t break laminated glass. If your side glass is laminated the belt cutter still works, and the rear windows often are not laminated, but we would rather you knew that before you ordered than after. Always strike a corner. It is not made for laminated windshields.

You expose the blade by pulling the cover off, and even then it stays recessed. Fingers can’t reach the edge, but the belt slides right in.

That’s the spring-loaded design working. The point rides hidden inside the collar so nothing sharp sits on your keys, and it fires out the instant you press the tool into a corner of the side window, then draws straight back in. One press is all it takes.

It’s rated for 20+ full-force strikes, and an escape uses one. A hot or freezing car won’t weaken it. And if the spring ever does wear down, the 2-year warranty replaces the tool.

Take it off your keys before you fly. It has a spring-loaded striker and a hidden blade. It belongs in the car anyway, so leave it there and it’s waiting when you get back.
